Abu Garcia pro JT Kenney claimed his first victory of 2008 at the FLW Series BP Eastern Division event on Lake Okeechobee, Fla. Kenney finished the four-day tournament with 68 pounds, 13 ounces and cashed 5,000 in winnings.
“Winning this means I can keep the bills paid and keep fishing,” Kenney said. “That’s all that matters to me. I did not get into professional fishing to get rich or famous. I simply love fishing, that’s why I do it and I consider myself very lucky to be in a position where I can fish for a living.”
“The Abu Garcia REVO Premier reels kept me in the tournament,” Kenney said. The REVO reels are indestructible and the every day wear and tear on reels during tournaments takes its toll. But these reels perform everyday like it did when it first came out of the box.”
Kenney was not the only Abu Garcia pro to have success on the water; Chad Grigsby and Greg Pugh finished seventh and 10th, respectively, using Trilene 100% Fluorocarbon and Berkley baits.
The next Wal-Mart FLW Series BP Eastern Division event will be held March 26-29 on Wheeler Lake in Decatur, Alabama.
