Abu Garcia anglers overshadowed the field of 50 at this past weekend’s PWT event on Saginaw Bay. The Abu Garcia team dominated the Saginaw Bay event, placing nine anglers in the top ten. The top three positions of the Professional Walleye Trail event included Abu Garcia pros: Mark Courts 1st place, Tommy Skarlis 2nd place and Bill Ortiz 3rd place.
Courts brought in a four-fish limit both days to earn the title with 39-pounds, 8-ounces of fish for the tournament. The win on Saginaw Bay in Bay City, Mich., earned the Abu Garcia pro a prize package worth over 0,000.
“The wear and tear that walleye anglers put on their reels is significant,” said Mark Courts. “Abu Garcia put their best reels on the market and they are a big reason why I was able to win today. The tournament trail has just started and I seem to be on the right track.”
Courts was not the only Abu Garcia pro enjoying a big tournament. Tommy Skarlis finished second and Bill Ortiz finished third, giving Abu Garcia a 1,2,3 finish to begin the season.
